The Irish international is on loan at the club from fellow Premier League team Bournemouth, and has made it clear that he is not happy about the comments made by pundits on what the season holds for the 'Bluebirds'.
Former England striker Chris Sutton said on the 'BBC' that he thought that the Welsh side would be relegated from the division with a record-breaking lack of points this season.
While Sutton and other presenters on the radio show where the comments were made have stated this was said in jest to tease a fellow Cardiff-supporting presenter, Arter clearly didn't see the funny side.
"There have been some ridiculous comments from certain people." Arter told the 'BBC'.
"You just ignore it because they're silly comments, especially from fellow professionals who have played the game.
"They should have a better understanding of football. For whatever reason, they feel like they may need to get a bit more publicity to get better jobs."
Arter and his Cardiff side picked up their first point of the season, in a scrappy 0-0 draw with Newcastle on Saturday.
