At the age of 32, Jerome Boateng's contract ends in June 2021. The latest rumours suggest that Bayern Munich are planning to sell him in the last few months of his contract because they do not count on him for next season.
Something which caught the footballer himself by surprise. He could not believe what he was hearing in an interview with 'Suddeutsche Zeitung'. After almost all his life at the Bavarians', his time at the club could come to an end very soon.
"Nobody came over to me, nobody spoke to me. I didn't know anything about that, so it surprised me," Boateng admitted. He hopes the German club make their position on his future clearer.
The defender is now being linked with other top European clubs. Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea are the teams named by the cited media outlet.
Boateng has now played nine matches for Bayern Munich this Saturday. He is considered important by Hans Flick, but the sporting director and his team seem to have other ideas.
