Fede Valverde was the main inclusion in Real Madrid's last training session before facing Girona in La Liga. He was testing his fitness with the rest of the group before taking a decision. The Uruguayan missed the trip to Leipzig in the Champions League in midweek. As for Benzema, he once again missed training so he will sit out the contest as well.
The start of Real Madrid's final training session in Valdebebas, which was open to the media, saw Valverde talk to Ancelotti after some light training. The coach asked the player how he felt and the midfielder's smile led people to think that he could return against Girona.
Fede received an important blow to his right thigh in the closing stages of the match against Sevilla and did not travel to Germany for the Champions League matchday five clash. He began training as normal and will try his luck in games played on reduced sized pitches behind closed doors in order to make a final decision.
In the meantime, Croatian midfielder Luka Modric was again with the rest of his teammates, as well as Dani Ceballos and Mariano Diaz, who could form part of the squad.
Benzema will not be fit in time as he has "muscle fatigue in the quadriceps of his left leg." However, his muscle fatigue seems worse than initially thought and he will sit out the third game in a row after missing the clashes with Sevilla and Leipzig.
