Most of European clubs interested in signing Darwin Núñez, Lisbon are beginning to throw in the towel. Benfica are practically taking it for granted that their highly-rated player will be on his way out of the club this summer.
Barcelona, Chelsea, PSG and United are increasing their contacts in recent days with the sole objective of being the big winner of this tremendous competition.
The reality is clear and even Núñez's own team-mates are talking about his possible departure, as is the case with Lucas Veríssimo: "It's the law of the transfer market. Of course we would all like to keep players like him, but we are in a competitive market, in which clubs need money to manage the day to day".
"He has innate qualities, he is building his path and if he has to leave, we will accept it. This has been the case in Portugal for a long time. We have to think about how to take and strengthen other profiles like him. The market is strong and, for that reason, there are players we can't keep," added the Benfica player in a statement to the media outlet.
