Andre Barzagli believes that Juventus' shock defeat to releated side Verona on Sunday could serve as a wake up call for the team, and end up helping them.
Juvetus were crowned champions after an impressive run which saw them go 26 games unbeaten, where they won 25 of those games
Luca Toni and Federico Viviani managed to both find the net before Paulo Dybala scored un unimportant late penalty to seal a shock 2-1 victory for the hosts.
Despite the fact Juventus fielded a weakened side, resting the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, Patrice Evra, Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba, Barzagli hopes the loss will be taken as a wake-up call.
"We played sloppily and our approach was wrong," Barzagli told the club's official website.
"Losing is never easy to take especially when you are as accustomed to winning as we are. That said, this loss may be good for us and give us a wake-up call ahead of the last two matches of the season.
"When you win the Scudetto with a handful of games to play, these lapses in concentration can always happen. We will put this behind us and make sure we train well and prepare as best we can for the Coppa Italia final."
