Barcelona struggled for rhythm throughout the first half, but did have chances to equalise through Dembele and Gavi. Depay and Dembele were both denied by heroic late blocks and despite the referee adding on almost 15 minutes of stoppage time, Rayo held on for a famous 1-0 win.
