Barca's ultimatum to Umtiti: either he agrees to leave or he'll be rescinded

Barcelona's patience with Samuel Umtiti has reached its limit. The French centre-back is not willing to leave the club, as he wants to serve out the remaining two years of his contract, even if he does not play. Barca are prepared to rescind his contract if he does not agree to leave.

Umtiti will somehow get his way. The contract rescission will bring him instant profits, and the freedom to negotiate with whomever he wants. For Barca, it will only be a short-term loss, but it will take a problem off their hands.

The player asked the club for one last chance, and was given the pre-season to convince Koeman, who gave him minutes in four friendlies. He started against Nastic and Girona, and was a substitute against Salzburg and Juventus. He did not play against Stuttgart.
