Barca midfielder Pedri responds calmly to Flick’s warning on “egos”

Hansi Flick’s comment that "egos kill success" has continued to resonate around Barcelona following the team’s performance in Vallecas. The German coach’s blunt assessment surprised several players, prompting speculation over whom his words might have been directed at.
Asked for his response during Spain’s national team camp, Pedri Gonzalez avoided controversy but addressed the subject directly. "I don't know who Flick was referring to, I suppose he'll tell us when we return from the break," the midfielder remarked.
Speaking at a Mapfre sponsorship event, he added that it was "complicated to talk about Barca" while focused on international duty. Pedri emphasised instead the importance of collective effort and dismissed any discussion of individual superiority.
"The star of the national team is the team," he said, underscoring his belief in unity. He concluded by stressing that every player has a role and that working together was more important than personal recognition.
