Bale starts and scores again

Gareth Bale, who in the last week has been in the eye of the storm, revindicated himself in Monday's FA Cup match, in Tottenham's visit to Wycombe Wanderers.

The player's possible return to Real Madrid at the end of the season has been spoken about in the last few days, as it seems, for the time being, that Spurs don't intend to take up the second year of his loan.

But José Mourinho started him in the FA Cup match and Bale made the most of it to make a name for himself. After Fred Onyedinma had opened the scoring for Wycombe, the Welshman got the equaliser.

On the stroke of half-time, Lucas Moura put in a cross from the left and the Tottenham number 9 lifted it over the keeper and into the net.
