Alejandro Balde was replaced after 14 minutes against Mallorca after a tough challenge from Amath Ndiaye. The Barca full-back could not stand up and needed help to be able to leave the pitch.
Once the game had finished, the Barcelona medical team announced that the defender had suffered a partial break to his ankle, meaning he will be out for between six and seven weeks.
Faced with this situation, Balde took to social media to express his feelings about being injured and not being able to play in the upcoming Nations League with Spain, as well as the pre-season with his teammates in the United States.
"Injuries are a bitter-sweet part of sport. Thanks to God it was less than thought. Thank you so much for the messages of support and your kindness. Now is time to recover well and come back stronger than ever".
