Aubameyang strike downs Bayern in 'Der Klassiker'

A win for Bayern would have seen them go nine points clear of Dortmund, meaning victory was vital for the home side. Fortunately for Dortmund, Aubameyang's early goal was enough to seal the victory.
In the 11th minute, former Bayern player Mario Gotze crossed through the legs of former Dortmund defender Mats Hummels and the ball found its way to Aubameyang who slid the ball home.
Franck Ribery thought he had a spectacular equaliser for Bayern, but his backheeled effort was ruled out for offside.
Xabi Alonso also saw an effort hit the crossbar from distance while Schurrle and Aubemeyang also forced saves from Manuel Neuer in the Bayern goal.
In the end, Thomas Tuchel's side held on for the victory and Dortmund moved within three points of Bayern Munich who sit in second place with 24 points, three points behind surprise leaders RB Leipzig.
