Atletico need to improve on the road

Diego Simeone's team have to take some eyecatching numbers into account. Beaten and knocked off the top a week ago after losing 2-0 at Real Sociedad and drawing 0-0 at home to Celta, Atletico need to bounce back with a win. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. 

Some terrible stats highlight the problem: they have not scored a goal in their last two matches and their away form is more inconsistent than in recent years, far from good enough to be a title contender. 

They have won just six games of their last 12 away from home. They have lost five and drawn one. Last season, in their first eight away games, they won one game, drew six and lost one. In fact, last season, they picked up just 28 points out of a possible 57 away from home.
