Atletico Madrid v Arsenal - Preview and possible lineups

Atletico: The hosts have been given a boost with the return of Filipe Luis to training, after the defender suffered a broken leg in March. He could be named as a substitute whilst Diego Costa is expected to start after playing for Atleti at the weekend against Alaves.

Sime Vrsaljko is suspended though after his red card from the first leg and will play no part.

Arsenal: Wenger rested a host of key players during the 'Gunners' 2-1 defeat to Manchester United so expect Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Alexandre Lacazette, Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi to start on Thursday. 

Henrikh Mkhitaryan made his return from a knee injury at the weekend and will also play some part. Alex Iwobi (thigh), Sead Kolasinac (ankle) and David Ospina (chest) are doubts. 

Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger on his side's mentality: 

"The way to behave is clear. We know we need to score. We have a clear demand in our heads and a clear approach. We need to be positive.

"The only thing we don't know is if Atletico Madrid will do the same or if they will do the opposite and have a more cautious approach and try to get at us on the break. That is what we will have to deal with in this game."

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone: 

"We are not thinking about Wenger's last season at Arsenal, only about what we need. We need to see a full stadium, the excitement of our players, the energy in the team, that's what matters to us".

"They have great players and a great coach. They have great players between the lines like Ozil. They have a lot of speed in the final third".
