Diego Costa had to be substituted in the match against Celta when he held his thigh in pain after a sprint. Simeone took him off the pitch due to the pain and Joao Felix came on instead.
This is an important injury for Atlético, who have quite a loaded month like all the clubs starting in the European competitions. The club updated the medical status of the Hispano-Brazilian and, evidently, he is still injured.
"Diego Costa had to be substituted in the second half of the match that our team played in Balaídos against RC Celta. The forward has undergone tests at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra which have determined that our striker has suffered a muscular injury to his left thigh".
As 'AS' already said, the striker could be out for about three weeks, that would mean he could miss up to six matches: three Champions League and three La Liga matches.
