Anyone who 'doesn't run' can't play for Atletico, says Koke

Atletico Madrid captain Koke Resurreccion was very critical of his team's first-half performance against Rayo, regretted that his team did not have “the attitude” it should have, pointed out that no win is achieved on any field “with just the shirt” and “whoever does not run, cannot play here”. 

“In the end, you have to push. We don't come here and win because of the shirt. Those who don't run can't play here today. In the first half we didn't have the attitude we had to have. Then, in the second half we had chances to come back in the second half and it wasn't possible,” he said in statements to ‘Movistar’.

“The second half was different. We found ourselves better, we positioned ourselves better, we saw another Atletico Madrid, which is playing something else that we didn't play in the first half,” he added.

“We have not performed in the first half. We lacked everything. In the second we changed the situation. We know last year's experience and we have to learn from it. We can't go out like that in the first half. We have to change. We're already dropping points in games like this,” he lamented.
