"Ancelotti is a little bit angry that we only score in second halves"

Brazilian Rodrygo Goes admitted that Carlo Ancelotti is "a bit angry" that Real Madrid only score in the second halves, but he was pleased with the good reaction against Espanyol on Saturday to come from behind at the Santiago Bernabeu and finish the game with a goal.

"Winning with this shirt is always very important and it's our objective. It was a difficult game. The coach is a bit angry with us because we only score goals in the second halves. In this game we conceded a goal, but we were calm enough to score," he said on 'Real Madrid TV'.

"We reacted quickly, but Ancelotti, in the pre-match talk, told us that we were very bad in the first halves of the previous games. We only scored against Mallorca in the first La Liga game, we had to do better in the first half against Espanyol and we did that, but we didn't score. We did it in the second half," he added.

Rodrygo was delighted to score Real Madrid's second goal of the game, which turned the scoreline around, and he was grateful for the pass from his compatriot Vinicius Junior. "I feel very good. The season is still starting and on a personal level I feel good physically and mentally which is more important. I'm always ready to help the team," he said.

"We have a great atmosphere, there is a lot of respect between all of us who have the same goal and we are focused. Vini's assist was spectacular, in a Luka Modric style. He's getting better and better at that pass and I thank him for his assist," he added.

Real Madrid reached 38 consecutive games without defeat in La Liga and Rodrygo is keen to extend the streak throughout the tournament. "It's more difficult than it seems, it's a lot of games but we want much more and to go the whole season without losing. We're going to try.
