With the score tied at 0-0 between Zlatan Ibrahimovic's La Galaxy and Montreal Impact, the Swedish striker saw the red mist and lashed out at an opponent who had stepped on his foot.

On the 41st minute of Monday's MLS tie, Zlatan struck. And not by hammering a 35 yard volley into the back of the net this time.

When Michael Petrasso of Montreal Impact backed into the former PSG striker and trod on his foot, the LA Galaxy No. 9 couldn't contain his anger. Instinctively, Ibrahimovic delivered a measured slap to the back of Petrasso's head. The two men dropped to the floor in sync, both pleading their injuries.

Having missed the incident, the referee referred to VAR before racing over to the two men. Petrasso was given a yellow whilst the Zlatan was given his marching orders

Zlatan then coyly hobbled off the pitch and down the tunnel accompanied by a member of the Galaxy medical staff.
