Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is alleged to be unhappy that 17-year-old midfielder Martin Odegaard is on the club's pre-season tour to Canada, as it is suggested that it was not Zidane's decision to take the Norwegian.

The Madrid boss did not want to take the youngster, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insisted that he went on the tour in order to help find the Norwegian a new club.

Real Madrid signed Odegaard in January 2015 and the Norwegian has just played on one occasion for the Champions League winners' first-team.

It is understood that Madrid want Odegaard to gain some experience by going on loan to another club, and president Perez feels that Odegaard's presence at the club's pre-season tour would help attract attention from other clubs.

The motives behind the signing of Odegaard have recently been questioned, after former Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted that the youngster was a "public relations" signing.
