Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha wrote his name into the club's history books on Saturday as his goal against newly-promoted Fulham moved him level with Chris Armstrong as the club's all-time record Premier League goalscorer.

The flying flanker scored Palace's second in a 2-0 win at Craven Cottage, moving him on to 23 Premier League league goals for the 'Eagles', thus matching a record that had stood for some 23 years.

Zaha came through the ranks at Palace before earning himself a big money move to Manchester United.

However, that switch quickly turned sour and he wound up returning to Selhurst Park initially on loan before penning a permanent deal.

The return to his former stomping ground has seen him revitalise his career, with the Ivory Coast international now Palace's main attacking threat.

Zaha's strike coupled with Jeffrey Schlupp's opener ensured that the 'Eagles' got off to a much better start than last season, when they failed to score in their first seven games of the campaign.

Armstrong, with whom Zaha now shares the record, played for Palace between 1992 and 1995, scoring a total of 45 league goals in 118 games for the club, with 23 of those coming in the Premier League.
