Youthful Manchester United overcome Crystal Palace
The less regular players got the opportunity to play at Old Trafford as United rounded off their season with a win.
Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho almost changed the entire team to spare his players for the Europa League final on Wednesday. So young players got the possibility to play and gain more experience.
In the 14th minute a moment which Josh Harrop will never forget happened. Paul Pogba played a beautiful ball with the outside of his foot to Harrop. The youngster twisted and turned onto his right foot and found the far corner with an excellent effort from 15 yards.
4 minutes later, the second goal arrived. Lingard won the ball against Crystal Palace player Zaha. He played to Pogba and the Frenchman was icecold to score the second.
During the second half, Crystal Palace also had chances. Benteke rose to meet Zaha´s cross, and headed towards the bottom corner. In the 78th minute Crysal Palace had the biggest opportunity to score at least one goal. Milivojevic took a free kick over the wall, but Manchester United goalkeeper Pereira made a very good save.
During the second half, United did not attack much, but they were clever enough to put the game out of reach for Palace.
Men of the match were the young player Josh Harrop and the extraordinary midfielder Paul Pogba.
