Nico Yennaris captained Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday as his side faced Arsenal in the third-round of the Carabao Cup, 18 years after being a mascot for the Gunners.

Arsenal beat the Championship side 3-1, but it was nonetheless a memorable night for the Brentford captain, who was a member of the Arsenal academy in his youth.

Back in 2000, he accompanied Tony Adams on to the Highbury pitch for Arsenal's match with Coventry City as a mascot.

Yennaris was at the North London club for 15 years, and even played in the same U8s team as Harry Kane.

However, after joining Brentford to enjoy more first-team action, he has played over 130 times for the Bees.

The photo, tweeted by Arsenal photographer Stuart MacFarlane, also shows that Mike Dean refereed both matches.
