The war between Ukraine and Russia is escalating by the minute. After Zinchenko defended his country, this time it was Yaremchuk, who after scoring a goal pulled out a T-shirt with a symbology of the Ukrainian army on it.

Politics and football are intrinsically linked. Two pillars of society that mark the day-to-day life of citizens, sportsmen and women or even an entire country.

Events between Russia and Ukraine are accelerating, with the former potentially invading the latter's territory. All this while the rest of the world looks on with suspicion.

So it is only natural that footballers from both countries are fighting back. First Zinchenko did it, with a message on his social networks, and this Wednesday it was Yaremchuk's turn.

The Benfica player came on in the second half and scored in the 2-2 draw. He quickly took off his shirt and revealed another one with the logo of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A clear message to support his country in a week that looks more than decisive in the Old Continent.
