Guardiola seems to work wonders wherever he goes, and with him imminent departure from Bayern, Alonso has commented on the legacy he feels the coach will leave behind.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Alonso said: "Pep is ahead of his time. He is very demanding of himself and his players, but once you get to know it (the style), then it is the way we like to play."
"During his time here he has built something, a style of play, I think many players will have learnt a lot and improved and for sure those fundamentals will be very useful in the future as well."
Guardiola will be looking to lift the Bundesliga for the third year in succession before leaving, and if he's lucky the Champions League too.
