If we look at the images after Iniesta's extra-time goal for Spain in the World Cup final against the Netherlands, Spain won the World Cup with the goal and everyone hugged Iniesta except Marchena. Why did he not hug the goalscorer? Ramon Fuentes explains why on 'Sport'.

Ramon Fuentes of 'Sport' analysed Andres Iniesta's 116th minute goal to give Spain the World Cup against Holland in 2010. The Spanish players went crazy after the goal.

All the Spain players went to hug Iniesta after his goal except Carlos Marchena and Iker Casillas.

But why did Marchena not hug Iniesta? As Marchena explained a year ago, he decided to stay in midfield while the rest of his teammates went to celebrate.

Marchena did that to prevent the Netherlands taking a quick kick-off while they were celebrating. If all the Spain players were in their own half then the Netherlands could have kicked off and scored while Spain were not ready.
