Five teams have secured their place in the Europa League knockout stage after just four games played, whilst three teams have already suffered ignominious exits.

Dinamo Kyiv's 1-0 win over Young Boys in Switzeland on Thursday meant that they were among the first batch of teams to book their place in the knockout stage of the Europa League.

Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw by Red Star Belgrade in a drab encounter at the Emirates but also secured a spot in the last 32 thanks to Koln's victory over BATE Borisov.

FCSB, who have a rich history in the competition will also be present in the knockout stage after holding Hapoel Be'er Sheva to a 1-1 draw in Bucharest.

Joining the trio will be Lazio and Zenit, with the former beating Nice 1-0 on Thursday and the latter holding Rosenborg.

Lazio are the only side to maintain a 100% record in the competition, though all five of the qualified sides remain unbeaten with three wins and one draw to their names.

However, for all the happy fans going home on Thursday night there were also some glum ones, with Everton, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Vardar all crashing out of the competition after losses to Lyon, Astana and Real Sociedad respectively, with the three teams managing just two draws between them after four games each.
