Arsenal sailed into the knockout stages of the Europa League on Thursday as group winners, rounding off their group stage campaign with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Belarusian side BATE Borisov that left them wondering who they could draw in the next round. We take a closer look.

How does the draw work?

Much like the in the Champions League, group winners are drawn randomly against group runners-up and the four Champions League drop-outs, with no side able to face a team from the game group or country as them. That means that Arsenal can't face Red Star Belgrade, who finished second in Group H, whilst Everton's early exit makes Arsenal England's only hope in the competition.

Who will Arsenal be hoping to avoid?

The presence of Champions League drop-outs means that Arsenal could face tricky draws against the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Spartak Moscow or an all-British tie against Scottish champions Celtic.

There are also potential banana skins amonst the group runners-up too, with Lyon and Marseille both potential rivals.

Here is the full list of Arsenal's potential opponents:

Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Celtic, Spartak Moscow, Astana, Partizan Belgrade, Ludogorets, AEK Athens, Lyon, FC Copenhagen, Steaua Bucharest, Marseille, Ostersunds, Nice, Real Sociedad.
