Ever since his arrival in the Ligue 1, Neymar Jr has become the king of France. However, he may not be the ruler in Paris. The Brazilian was involved in another spot-kick controversy that further proved the admiration PSG fans have for Edinson Cavani.

Who could have predicted that, when Neymar swapped Barcelona for Paris, he would be whistled and jeered from the stands with his side 8-0 ahead and four goals to his name. Hard to understand, but true. The Parc des Princes crowd chanted for Cavani to take the penalty kick and Neymar was whistled after he stepped up to convert from 12 yards, denying his colleague the chance to surpass Ibrahimovic. Whistles in Paris, smiles in Madrid.

At the Bernabeu, fans eagerly await the arrival of a new leader to get Real Madrid back on track. Incidentally, on Thursday, the club received a huge blow when the Brazilian superstar's lawyer revealed there was no release clause included in his contract at PSG.

Neymar's start to life in Paris, though unquestionably outstanding from a sporting point of view, has been rather contradictory otherwise. The star and best player of the team, but the Parc des Princes is often angered by the Brazilian's antics, both on the pitch and off.

Reports in France suggested that Neymar was somewhat downcast when he disappeared into the players' tunnel after scoring four times against Dijon. With the match ball under his arm but bemused by the treatment received from his own fans. His team-mate Meunier's words, though well-intended, only added fuel to the fire. "I understand the disappointment but I find this very disgraceful from the fans," the Belgian said.

Neymar's numbers so far this season highlight just how important he is to the team and his impact on the game has certainly grown since his departure from the Camp Nou. But the change of team or city have not altered the flamboyant attitude he began to show at Santos in Brazil. A unique footballer with the charisma and personality that has attracted interest from the Spanish capital.

The man-marking he will be put through at the Bernabeu in little under a month will attempt to contain the brilliance and flare that have captivated his suitors. Real Madrid will pay close attention to the player who is still PSG's leader, despite reservations from certain sections of the Parisian crowd.
