Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid are beginning to show signs of the great season they may have ahead of them. 'Los Blancos' comfortably beat WSG Tirol 4-0 in their final pre-season match before the start of La Liga 2025/26.
One piece of good news for the former Bayer Leverkusen coach is the gradual return to form of Eder Militao, after the Brazilian centre-back missed much of last season with a serious knee injury.
In fact, the Brazil international, who opened the scoring against WSG Tirol, returned to the starting line-up for the 'Merengues' for the first time since November 2024. "I've had good feelings. I'm helping the team, which is what I like. It took a while, but the best thing is to be back there, at the manager's disposal. Whenever I get the chance to play, I'll do my best to help the team," he said.
"The goal was a very nice one. I thought it wasn't going to go in, but in the end it turned out well. I think we are linking up better and better. What the manager is asking for is already working better. We will continue to improve throughout the season," he concluded.
