Whilst Real Madrid may have secured safe passage to the Champions League knockout stages with Tuesday night's victory over Roma, the main talking point regarding the Spanish champions continues to be playmaker Isco's lack of involvement of late.
The Spain star was not invovled as his side went to battle in Rome, deemed not worthy of even being handed a place on the bench.
Indeed, the former Malaga man has yet to start a single game since Santiago Solari replaced Julen Lopetegui at the helm, whether it be in the league, the cup or in Europe.
It is quite clear that the pair do not see eye to eye on something, though it remains unclear exactly what is causing the animosity between the two.
Isco's silky skills and cool temperament mean that he remains a firm favourite among the Real Madrid fans, but with Solari refusing to even include him in his 18, it appears he is being punished for something.
Rumours of a knock or niggle were denied by journalist Manolo Lama, who insisted on 'El Partidazo' that Isco had been left out as a result of a lack of respect he showed towards Solari.
Isco himself was also quoted severaly times as saying he was in "perfect" shape to feature against the Italians, making a falling-out the most likely scenario.
Speaking following the game, Solari refused to be drawn into the debate, saying: "Dropping Isco was a specific decision for a specific moment.
"Coaches are in place to make decisions and that's it, I am here to make decisions. Sometimes we make the right ones, sometimes we don't but it's easy to say that after the game.
"Decisions are almost always sporting, except in exceptional cases, although there are none of those here. Starters and substitutes are fictitious problems that don't exist. The players are here to give everything and be at 100 per cent so they can be picked.
Isco and his fans will have to wait to see hime return to the side, but it doesn't seem as if there is a quick and easy solution to the situation.
