In a recent game between Mexican sides América and Pumas UNAM in the Clausura quarter finals, the cameras captured a player inhaling something while the players were huddled ahead of kick-off.

In a Clausura quarter-final clash, a strange video emerged. The cameras caught Edson Alvarez sniffing something seconds before the crunch game against Pumas UNAM kicked off.

However, this isn't the first time a situation like this has occurred to an América player. Michael Arroyo, who no longer plays for the side, had to come out to dismiss allegations that he had snorted cocaine before a game, after people on social media caught him inhaling a substance before a game.

"Before every game, the doctor gives us cotton wool with alcohol on for us to take," Arroyo explained in a message on his Facebook page, after outrage back in 2015.

Now, three years later, the same controversy has arisen. All sorts of rumours emerged on social media about what Alvarez was inhaling, and although it could be alcohol once again, no formal explanation has been released by the club.
