West Ham are on the verge of signing Turkish winger Gokhan Tore on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.

West Ham will originally sign the player on loan and then decide if they want to make it a permanent deal.

Besiktas are understood to be asking for £12.7 million for the German-born Turkish international.

West Ham manager, Slaven Bilic previously worked with Tore when manager of Besiktas and has certainly been impressed by Tore's qualities.

Tore has scored 12 goals in 82 matches for the Turkish side and has 26 caps for Turkey.

The West Ham manager also admitted that he would like to sign a "top" striker.

Bilic said: "With strikers, it's not a secret that we want a top one but we are not so desperate because we have really good strikers. If we could get one top striker, he would add to those we have already."
