Arsenal's record signing Alexandre Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 games for Lyon last season and Arsene Wenger has challenged the striker to continue his success in front of goal at the Emirates.

The 26-year-old is expected to start in Arsenal's opening Premier League game against Leicester on Friday evening and he will be keen to get his name on the scoresheet.

Lacazette boasts an impressive record in front of goal, the Frenchman had the highest chance conversion rate in Europe's top five leagues last season (38.9 per cent).

Gunners boss Wenger has now challenged the striker to continue his scoring record in North London. He told 'Sky Sports', "Lacazette can integrate well into the game we want to play with his movement, combination, technical quality and efficiency."

"In France he scored a goal every 80 minutes. Will he transfer that into the Premier League? That's the target. He has to show he can do that."

Wenger also spoke his other summer signing, Sead Kolasinac, saying he has the potential to be a huge success in the Premier League.

"Kolasinac is a versatile player," Wenger added. "He can play on the left side but also in central defence. I believe he has the power, the attitude and the desire to integrate very quickly into the Premier League."

On the topic of bringing in any more new signings this summer, the Frenchman said, "we are open to an exceptional player. However, just to remind you we have 33 players and they are all good players."

"That's unmanageable so to bring one more player in for the sake of it would be stupid, but if we find an exceptional one, we will do it."
