During a curious conversation between Alan Shearer and Ian Wright, the legendary former Arsenal striker recalled the methods with which Arsene Wenger came to Arsenal in 1996.

In the 1998 FA Cup Final, Arsenal beat a star-studded Newcastle side led by Alan Shearer.

Ian Wright, the great gunner of the 1990s, spoke to the magpies' striker about those years with Gary Lineker as moderator in a virtual chat.

The legendary striker revealed the intriguing methods employed by Arsene Wenger upon his arrival at the London club in 1996. He said he was ahead of his time: "We used to get vitamin injections directly into the arm."

Alan Shearer - half serious, half joking - said, 'We should get the FA Cup because the Arsenal players used drugs. To which Wright joked: "It would be the only way you could win the FA Cup medal:

Wright qualified his words and claimed that there was nothing illegal. "These are things that everybody knows now: B6, B12 pills, nutrition and training..." he stressed.

However, the historic England striker admitted that not everyone was equally willing to take them: "We were used to ending up on the floor throwing up the pre-season. Vieira, Bergkamp, Petit and Anelka were taking them, but we English lads thought... 'What's this?'. In six weeks you'd see the results.
