VOTE: Which club has the nicest crest?
Today we ask you to vote on our Facebook page on an issue that has to do with football aesthetics and therefore depends entirely on your personal taste.
The crest, or badge, is one one of the most important distinctive elements of each football club. We have made a list of six clubs whose crest has long been acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in sport and we ask you to choose which one you prefer.
The shortlist includes English clubs Liverpool, Newcastle United and Coventry City, Italian club Roma, French club PSG and Brazilian club Sao Paulo.
PSG’s crest features the Eiffel Tower, the famed landmark of Paris. The Roma crest meanwhile features a wolf, in reference to Romulus and Remus, the twin brothers who according to legend were raised by a wolf and founded the eternal city, Rome.
Liverpool’s crest famously features a liver bird, Newcastle’s comprises of two seahorses, a castle, a demi-lion and an amended pennon while Coventry’s features an elephant, a phoenix and a griffin.
Sao Paulo’s crest follows an entirely different concept, as rather than symbols it comprises of four stars, the initials of the club and a triangle formed by a red, a white and a black stripe.
