According to the new rules that were announced recently, Mexican clubs will no longer be eligible to compete in the Libertadores Cup.
In addition, the qualification system has been modified and the third-placed team in each of the eight groups as well as the two teams that lose in the preliminary knock-out stage (so a total of 10 team) will be transferred to the Copa Sudamericana and continue in that competition.
