Vieira: Current Arsenal team lacks personality of the Invincibles
Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira believes that the current Arsenal team does not possess the same personality or physical presence of the Invincibles of the 2003-04 season.
Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira believes that the current Arsenal team does not possess the same personality or physical presence of the Invincibles of the 2003-04 season.
These are the two qualities missing from the current Arsenal team, which is currently stopping them winning the Premier League according to Vieira.
"My generation had lots of physically strong players," the former Gunners skipper told 'The Telegraph'.
"In the last five or six years, Arsenal went with more of this type of technical players. The Invicibles had it all.
"Now when I watch Arsenal, they play good football, but I just have a feeling they are missing something - the physical presence, the personality.
The Frenchman is also disappointed that his former side are not winning enough games and that his former team-mates are not working at the club.
"The team is not doing as well as it used to and you need to win football matches. They've been disappointing, losing games they should have won," he added.
"I'm disappointed not to have ex-Arsenal players working at Arsenal.
"It is good for the young players could see a Thierry Henry, a Ljungberg, or a Keown who have been at the club a good few years working in the academy, or working somewhere".
