New Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has told his players that 'when you have to kill the game, you need to kill the game' and not let teams back into matches.
Tottenham hosted Vitesse in a Europa Conference League game on Thursday.
Son Heung-Min gave Spurs the lead after 14 minutes and Lucas Moura made it two eight minutes later. A Jacob Rasmussen own goal gave Conte's men a 3-0 lead inside the opening half an hour, but Vitesse came fighting back. Jacob Rasmussen pulled one back after 32 minutes and Matus Bero made it 3-2 before the break. In the second half, there were no goals, but there were three reds. Cristian Romero saw two yellows for Spurs while Doekhi and goalkeeper Schubert were dismissed for the Dutch outfit.
