VIDEO: Sporting Gijon come from behind to knock out Villarreal
Sporting Gijón surprised Villarreal and knocked them out in the 2021/22 Copa del Rey Round of 32.
Villarreal travelled to Sporting Gijon in a Copa del Rey last 32 tie last Thursday.
Raul Albiol gave Villarreal the lead in the 48th minute at El Molinon, but the Segunda division came fighting back. Uros Durdevic drew Sporting level in the 67th minute and then Bohdan Milovanov netted the winner for Sporting in the 88th minute. Sporting's reward for beating Villarreal is a last 16 tie at home to Cadiz. The match takes place on Saturday 15th January at 18:30 CET.
