The first half at the Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara was goalless and in the second period, America were reduced to 10 men when Emanuel Aguilera was sent off after 57 minutes. Despite having 10 players, Sebastian Cordova put the visitors ahead with 13 minutes remaining after being passed the ball before slotting it under the keeper's legs.
