Italy coach Roberto Mancini was happy to give joy to Italians all around the world after a difficult year by winning the Euro 2020 title for them.

Italy took on England in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley on Sunday. Roberto Mancini's men got off to the worst possible start as Luke Shaw gave England the lead inside two minutes. The hosts were the much better team for the first 30 minutes, but then Italy picked up. Leonardo Bonucci equalised for Italy midway through the second half and the Italians looked more the likely to win. There were no goals in extra time and the game went to penalties.

Harry Kane and Harry Maguire scored England's first two spot kicks while Andrea Belotti saw his penalty saved after Domenico Berardi had scored Italy's first, but things went downhill for England from then on. Leonardo Bonucci scored for Italy, but Marcus Rashford's spot kick hit the post and the Federico Bernardeschi put Italy 3-2 up. Jadon Sancho saw his penalty saved by Donnarumma and that gave Jorginho a penalty to win it, but Pickford denied him. However, Bukayo Saka failed to convert England's fifth penalty and Italy won 3-2 on penalties.

After the game, Roberto Mancini spoke to the media and said it was a special trophy for him after the incredibly difficult year Italy have had with the coronavirus pandemic. Have a listen to his comments in the video above!
