Jürgen Klopp praised Liverpool’s performance following their 2-0 first-leg win over Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final, and also gave his thoughts on whether Sadio Mane should be considered for the Ballon d’Or award.
Liverpool hosted Villarreal in a Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half which Liverpool dominated, Liverpool took the lead in the 53rd minute when Pervis Estupinan deflected a Jordan Henderson cross into his own net. Two minutes later, Sadio Mane got the second for the home side and the game ended 2-0. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke after the game and you can listen to his comments in the video above!
The winners will take on Man City or Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on 28th May. The Sky Blues have a 4-3 lead from the first leg at the Etihad.
