Gladbach's sporting director Max Eberl discusses the European Super League, explaining that football consists of competition

Borussia Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl has been the latest to give his opinion on the new European Super League proposals - have a look at what he had to say here!

It's been a hectic few days in the world of European football. Proposals of the 20-team European Super League have sent shock-waves all over the continent, criticised for its self-serving purpose and maintaining financial hegemony within the biggest clubs.

Another criticism has been the lack of competition in the League's proposed format. 15 'founder' teams would retain their places season after season, no matter their results. Eberl discusses this aspect in the adjacent video.

Whilst Gladbach weren't amongst the teams to have been invited to participate in the new competition, fellow German sides Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have been commended for their refusal to join, meanwhile all of the invitees from Spain, Italy and England gladly accepted.
