Emerson Royal is in Barcelona! The Brazilian full-back, whose transfer was made official on June 2, and who has been taking a break after competing for his country at the Copa America, arrived at El Prat Airport this Saturday, from where he was transferred directly to the Ciutat Esportiva.
Emerson, at just 22 years of age, has already made 73 official appearances in La Liga and arrives at Barca to bolster the right-back position.
Once he has had time to take in his new surroundings, he will be officially presented as a Barca player at 7.00pm CEST on Monday at the Camp Nou. It was on 31st January 2019 that FC Barcelona reached a three-way agreement with Atletico Mineiro and Real Betis Balompie, with the Brazilian playing on loan to the latter for two seasons.
Last season, he was the most used player by Manuel Pellegrini (3,186 minutes in La Liga), also scoring five goals for Betis and giving ten assists.
