The 2003 Champions League final was an all Italian one as Juventus faced AC Milan at Old Trafford. It was then first ever all Italian Champions League final and it was goalless.
Gianluigi Buffon helped keep it 0-0 after he made an absolutely superb stop. He dived to his left after a powerful diving header by Filippo Inzaghi from Clarence Seedorf's cross. Unfortunately for him, he ended up on the losing side as AC Milan won 3-2 on penalties with Andriy Shevchenko scoring the decisive penalty.
It was AC Milan's sixth Champions League trophy ever and Paolo Maldini was given the man of the match award.
