The Brighton squad congratulated Simon Adringa after his starring role in the Ivory Coast’s African Cup of Nations success.
Against all odds, the hosts of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 Ivory Coast managed to lift the trophy after claiming a comeback victory over Nigeria in the final with goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller.
Although his performance in the final was not the most talked about, Brighton winger Simon Adingra has been a key player in the Ivorians' run to AFCON glory, including two assists in the final against the Nigerians.
In addition, the 22-year-old winger scored the late equaliser against Mali in the quarter-finals before Diakite's extra-time winner selaed his side's place in the semi-finals.
