AC Milan are on the verge of completing a loan move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, a deal that could close the door on Rasmus Hojlund’s chances of joining the Serie A giants.

AC Milan is on the verge of finalising the loan signing of Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, with a deal that would include an option to buy next summer.

This negotiation comes after the Italian club spent weeks trying to sign Rasmus Hojlund on loan from Manchester United. However, the deal for the 22-year-old Danish striker stalled because the proposed structure did not include a purchase obligation.

The arrival of Boniface, a Nigerian international, would be a relief for Stefano Pioli, who was urgently seeking a new striker for his squad. At the same time, Napoli are also in the market for a striker following Lukaku's muscle injury, which could keep him out of action for up to four months.

Meanwhile, Hojlund's situation at Manchester United has become more uncertain with the arrival of Slovenian Sesko. The young Danish striker was a substitute in the last pre-season friendly against Fiorentina and was subsequently left out of the squad for the Premier League opener against Arsenal.
