After Neymar fell to the ground in the Costa Rican box, the referee pointed to the spot. But after VAR review, the decision was overturned, annuling the first penalty decision in World Cup history.

Neymar thought he had won Brazil a penalty when he collapsed like a pack of cards after alleged contact from Giancarlo Gonzalez in the box.

The referee did point to the spot but after a quick look at the monitors he changed his mind and overturned the decision, much to the Costa Ricans relief.

It is the first time since VAR has been introduced that the system has led to a penalty call being annulled and given the number of incidents in this summer's tournament, it's likely to not be the last.
