Manchester United follows Real Madrid and Barcelona's steps and considers redeveloping Old Trafford soon.

Manchester United is planning on remodeling Old Trafford and increasing the stadium's capacity up to 80,000 people, according to 'BBC'.

The English side was criticized during the last couple of months by club legends such as Gary Neville for the state of Old Trafford

'The Theatre of Dreams' has a capacity of 74,000 people, and hasn't been redeveloped since 2006. Neville said the stadium is "rusty and rotting".

Since 2006, most of United's Premier League rivals have changed or redeveloped their stadium. Manchester City moved to Etihad Stadium; Arsenal moved to Emirates Stadium; and Tottenham moved to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Liverpool is already planning to increase Anfield's capacity for the 2023-24 season, and Chelsea is considering a redevelopment of Stamford Bridge.

Old Trafford's redevelopment would be focussed on the Bobby Charlton stand, as well as the press box and the VIP areas. To carry it out, the club would have to consider the impact on the train lines and houses around the stadium.
