Manchester United have agreed to terminate Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract with immediate effect, paving the way for him to move to the MLS.

It's official. Fans will not be seeing the Swedish striker at Old Trafford again after the club announced through their official Twitter account that they have terminated his contract with immediate effect.

It read: "Manchester United confirms that it has agreed to the termination of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract with immediate effect.

"Everyone at the club would like to thank Zlatan for his contribution to the team since his arrival and wishes him well for the future".

Reports have been linking Ibrahimovic with a move to the MLS with LA Galaxy for some time and this decision will now allow the 36-year-old to follow through with the transfer.
