According to 'Sport', Manchester United will demand £115m for their prized goalkeeper David de Gea if Real Madrid decide to come calling again in the summer.

It is well known among the footballing world that the Spanish giants are after a new No. 1 with them linked to Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois in January.

However, in the past Florentino Perez has had his heart set on acquiring De Gea from United, given the player's status as Spain's best keeper.

They almost succeeded in bringing the 27-year-old to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2015 until they were thrawted by a last-minute administrative error, but that wouldn't stop 'Los Blancos' from trying again.

If that did ever happen, Jose Mourinho wants to be prepared and has reportedly told his board to inform their European rivals that nothing less than £115m will even be considered.

United understand the importance of keeping De Gea, who has become pivotal to the club's progress under the Portuguese head coach, although they know the shotstopper will want to return to his homeland at some point in the future.

The Manchester team could be aided in their efforts by comments made by rival Courtois on Tuesday: "My heart is in Madrid, if they want me, they have to contact Chelsea", which appears to suggest the Belgian would be keen on becoming Real's No. 1.
